St David's from Queens Drive
St. David, Childwall is situated on the Inner Ring Road and on the edge of the ancient Doomsday Parish of Childwall.
Started in 1939 it was consecrated in 1940 making it one of the few churches to be opened during the Second World War.

St David
St. David is in the Deanery of Liverpool South and is unique in that the worship could be classed as Central, whereas most of the surrounding Churches are of a more evangelical persuasion. As such, St. David’s attracts Christians from the surrounding area who would not feel comfortable with the other forms of service on offer. That, said the Church has a special arrangement with a neighbouring parish, in the next Deanery, which could be described as ‘Open Evangelical’ and there is a frequent exchange of Ministers between the two. Moves are being made to join forces in ministering to a part of St. David’s Parish which for historical and practical reasons draws in few people.
The ministry team consists of an Incumbent, an Ordained Local Minister and two Licensed Lay Ministers. There is also a Shared Ministry Team to help support the OLM. St. David’s boasts a Traditional Choir.
Most visitors comment on how friendly and welcoming they find the congregation.
A range of social and other activities takes place in the neighbouring Gladstone Hall, which is also used by Community Groups, as well as the Guide Association.

Altar at Eastertide
At present the focus is on finding new ways in which we can reach out to the wider parish. The outreach with our partner Church has already been mentioned, but it is realised that there has to be more. This will require, training, effort and determination on the part of the members. Moves are being made to bring this about.
It is seventy years since our foundation stone was laid. God has been good to us and we know that providing we keep true to His word and listen to His voice, he will not forsake us in the years that lie ahead.
